Swarovski Crystal Size Chart

Finding the right swarovski crystal rhinestone sizes for your project can be a little tricky, especially if you're looking to buy them online (we know, since we use them for our bullet jewelry). It's really frustrating to find you ordered the wrong size, especially when you want to get crafting! Below is a swarovski crystals size guide I found after a quick search (thank you to rhinestonestop). I'll explain swarovski crystal sizes a little bit for anyone who is interested--if you want to read then scroll past the chart!

Many of our products at En Reverie are made with Swarovski Crystals. They are inexpensive materials compared to gemstones, and they are SO beautiful! Swarovski releases many, many different types of rhinestones for people who want to make their own beautiful jewelry, even if they are just making it for themselves! Swarovski rhinestone sizes are a little tricky to understand, because the number doesn't correspond to a certain size (a 6SS crystal is NOT a 6 millimeter diameter!). Swarovski crystals are given a number, followed by either "PP" (Pearl Plate) or "SS" (Stone Size). The PP crystals tend to be smaller, and the SS crystals tend to be larger, but there is overlap between them.

You may not be able to get rhinestones for every one of the sizes below. Swarovski uses an old jewelry sizing convention, so other crystal manufacturers can use these sizing conventions too. This is why "Pearl Plate" is used in the naming convention--it used to be a size guide for pearls. A 10PP swarovski crystal isn't a pearl, they just use PP for the size because it's an old convention.

I said above that you may not be able to get rhinestones for everything in the swarovski crystal size chart below. Here are the SS sizes you should be able to get ahold of:

To be honest, I don't know too much about the PP Swarovski crystals because I have never used them. Maybe this means I will have to update this post as I learn more! I am familiar with the SS crystals, however, because we use them in our bullet stud earrings. As the size guide shows below, the 5SS swarovski crystals are 1.7 or so mm in diameter (the smallest swarovski size), and the 48SS crystals are about 11mm in diameter. The SS crystals are flatbacks, which you can get either with or without hotfix.
